The first week of February is always a jam-packed week for S. and myself. On the 4th of February it's his birthday and two days later it's mine. So we get to eat lots of cake, donuts and good food in those days and in general just enjoy the time together. But of course that also means lots of preparing and wrapping up gifts, baking, decorating and making cards (okay, that's my part.. he buys a card, but always picks really pretty ones! ;) )

This time around it was very easy for me to choose something to make my birthday card for him. Only a few days before, when I was at the Paperworld fair in Frankfurt and met the lovely Scrapbook Werkstatt girls (and some other Design Team members, so fun to see them again!) I received some design team material.
Amongst that were some products from the new Maggie Holmes collection called "Confetti" - and the name actually says it all! This collection is all about celebrating, party and birthday. So it was absolutely perfect timing!!

I am not the world's best card maker.. actually far from that! I always admire the absolutely gorgeous cards by Sandra and wish she would give me a private card making lesson :D I actually only make cards when I really need one, so for birthdays of loved ones and friends and comparable events.. But in general I try to avoid it - because I'm never satisfied with the result..

This time though, I am very happy with the end result!! It turned out exactly like I imagined it!
I chose white cardstock as my basis, spritzed some gold mist onto it, then cut out a rectangle (that was a bit smaller than the front) from some vellum and stitched it onto the card with my sewing machine.
I left the upper side open and filled the vellum pocket with some sequins, wood veneer pieces and gold chipboard stars. After that I just added half a doily, some pieces from the ephemera package and the chipboard stickers and it was done! Now you can shake the card around to see all the bits and pieces in the vellum pocket :)

I absolutely love this card and I think it's also suitable for a man, not too girly ;) S. liked the card, or at least he said so :D

And now I can't wait until the collection is finally available in the shop, I want it all!

Have a nice Sunday, y'all!!
