Bright Summer Cards & a Layout with the [Freckled Fawn] "Carnival" June Embellishment Kit.

Hey there :) As I promised on IG yesterday (with this little sneak), today I have some very fun and bright projects for you that I've made with the Freckled Fawn June embellishment kit called "Carnival".
Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.

As the name suggests, the kit is filled with cheerful bright colours and lots of fun little bits and pieces! My absolute favourite parts of the kit? The washi tape, the alphabet stamp set, the wood veneer pieces (look at those cute popsicles!) and the epoxy stickers! Although everything in the kit is really pretty!

As soon as I saw the alpha stamp set, I knew what I wanted to make with them. I wanted to create a background with some text and then colour in some of the letters with my Peerless watercolours! And that's exactly what I did for one of those cards:

I really love how well the colours of the embellishments coordinate with that washi tape! Seriously, I haven't been this in love with a washi tape for quite a while (the last one's that really got my heart were the newest one's by Lorabailora - the flamingos!). I like that it is a bit wider than the usual washi tapes and (lucky me) there is SO much on one single roll!

Besides those two cards, I also made a layout using the kit. This time I used the felt letters as a background for my photo. I attached all off the letters with liquid glue (tape runner doesn't work here) and then stitched over a few of them for a nice effect. Here I used the alpha stamps to create my title . I am still not sure whether or not I should colour in (some or all of) the letters. I fear that when I do it, I'll regret it and then I'd have to redo the whole thing :D

And because this is a layout about ice cream, I made sure to use lots of ice cream embellishments as well ;)

The journaling on the layout reads "The day the Magnum Double Caramel and I were finally reunited." - Here's the background story: A few years ago Magnum had to special editions (Double Chocolate and Double Caramel). I have been absolutely obsessed with the Double Caramel version. Seirously, I loved it and was so so sad when it was discontinued!
It was last year when S. and I were on our Costa Brava trip when I discovered the two Magnum versions on different signs. It was clear that I had to hunt down my treasured Double Caramel, so it became my mission to find one! And it was much harder than expected. While almost every place that sold Magnum (and also had those two on their signs) had the Double Chocolate one in stock, none seemed to have the Double Caramel! I think I asked at 15-20 different places until I finally got MY Double Caramel Magnum! And it was JOYOUS :D

So yeah, there's that. ;) Is there something similar for you, that you have tried/eaten/drunk/... once (or several times) and have since then tried to find it?
